BROASTERS COFFEE COMPANY DONATES TO THE ROME RESCUE MISSION

ROME, NY… Broasters Coffee Company of Rome donated 5 lbs. of coffee—roughly 180 cups—to the Rome Rescue Mission on Friday, August 4. This is the second time the company has donated to the Rome Mission since opening for business in the spring of 2017.

Broasters Coffee Company offers whole bean and ground coffee to local restaurants and retail outlets. They are located in the newly-renovated former City Hall building in Rome, NY.

“We love our local community and if there’s an opportunity to give back, we want to take it!”, says Steven Klepadlo, co-owner of Broasters. “We’re proud supporters of the Rome Rescue Mission, so it was a no-brainer to donate to them again.”

The Rome Rescue Mission is a Christian organization committed to assisting the least, the last, and the lost. Many come to their doors seeking a warm meal, a loving environment, and a hope for a brighter future.

The Rome Rescue Mission serves 200 meals per day and has an 18-bed shelter for women and children. They provide a means of hope by giving shelter to the homeless, feeding the poor, inspiring lifelong learning, and encouraging a personal relationship with God to everyone who is served.

Monetary donations are always gladly accepted and appreciated. Donations can be made via checks mailed to PO BOX 337, Rome, NY 13440, or online at RomeMission.org.

Matt Miller, Rome Rescue Missions Executive director, says “Change is often hard, what better way to show true care and compassion to those we serve than meeting them where they live!” He also says “If we are not willing to ask the tough questions and get to know the people we serve, we can’t hope for lasting change.” As of September 30th, all residents of the Rome Rescue Mission Shelter are currently employed. This has saved taxpayers thousands.
