Thanksgiving is a time for everyone to gather with family, enjoy good food and give thanks, but for many, there seems little to be thankful for. Bad decisions, tragedy or a lifetime of abuse have left them without a home or family. At the Rome Rescue Mission, we give hope to the hopeless, a safe shelter, a hot meal and people to share it, truly a reason to be thankful. For just two dollars you can give someone a place to call home, share a traditional Thanksgiving meal with those who care. We believe that no one should be without on Thanksgiving. Jesus said “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”. Last year over 3,000 meals were served during the Thanksgiving season.

At Thanksgiving, we give thanks for another, plentiful year by sharing an abundant dinner with family and friends. For the impoverished, Thanksgiving can be a lonely time of year. “Our services are critical to help these struggling families. We provide a warm, traditional meal to our neighbors in need this and every year,” said Matt Miller, Executive Director of the Rome Rescue Mission. “Our goal is for no one to go hungry on Thanksgiving.”
